Like a mobile phone there’s a Sim card in your GPS device reporting its position so you can see its location on a map. You can locate and monitor the location of your device as often as you like from every 10 seconds right through to once a day at no extra cost. You also get loads of SMS credits included in the price (50 to use each month) which are used to change settings on your device (such as I want to track every 1 minute instead of every 5 minutes) and receive alerts directly to your mobile phone should your GPS go out of a safe zone you’ve setup. Using your GPS
Loc8tor GPS technology lets you track your device in almost any country either online or by your mobile / cell phone. It will automatically detect and connect to a suitable mobile network (same as a mobile phone). Please note GPS technology is designed for use outside. It’s not suitable for locating the whereabouts of something indoors.

How Credits Work
The Loc8tor GPS tracker works the same as a Pay As You Go mobile phone where you purchase the phone and then purchase your minutes. We use a live sim card to send data on its position which then enables you to monitor on a map.
How to Buy
Simply select the period you want to track for. There are no hidden extras. All our packages are low cost whilst maintaining quality and comprehensive capabilities. Price ranges from £1.28 per day for a 1 monthly package to 41p a day for 12 months. The panel will show you how long you have left until your credit expires at which point you can renew.

Q. How do I activate the device?
A. All you need to do is visit GPS login / Activate and enter the device IMEI numbers in the appropriate fields. Enter your Title, Name and Surname, a memorable Password and the country where you are planning to use the device. You will also need to accept the General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use before you can proceed with your activation. Your unique IMEI number is printed on the card found inside the box containing the Loc8tor GPS.
Q. Now that I have activated my Loc8tor GPS Tracker, how do I start tracking?
A. Once activated turn on the Loc8tor GPS and place it outside or close to a window (in direct line-of-sight of the sky) so that the device can pick up and register your position. If you haven’t purchased top-ups you’ll need to in order for the device to report. Look for a slow flashing green light to show you have an initial connection.
Now go to our home page and click on the GPS login / Activate button to activate your GPS and follow the onscreen instructions. A tutorial on the tracking panel can be found here.

Q. Why do I need to register the device?
A. You will need to register your device on the website to protect your device positions. Your memorable password will secure access to this information and ensure that only you can see the whereabouts of your device.
Q. I have activated my GPS device from the activation page but I am seeing a black screen in the Tracking Panel. How can I fix this?
A - You need to install Microsoft Silverlight on your computer to view the panel properly. Follow the link here to go to and install the software directly from the Microsoft website.
Q. How long should I expect the Loc8tor GPS battery to last?
A. The more frequent you receive locates or SMSs, the more battery life the device uses. Climate also affects the battery life. If the GPS signal is weak due to clouds or high-rise buildings, the Loc8tor GPS will keep searching for the best GPS signal, thus using power. On average settings you should see a battery life of between 4 – 14 days. For heavy duty tracking i.e. every 5 seconds if in a car or other vehicle we’d recommend you buy a battery charger.

A. The Loc8tor GPS will need to send the location of the device to the tracking panel. The SMS and Location credits are clearly shown on your panel (bottom right hand side of panel). “Locates” uses GPRS technology (General Packet Radio Service) as opposed to the standard GSM used by other GPS trackers on the market. GPRS is far cheaper than GSM. You can also send commands to you Loc8tor GPS from your computer or mobile/cell phone. The device can also send you an SMS with its location.
Q. How best should I use the product?
A. This depends on the purpose of use. You can use the Loc8tor GPS to track your pet, your kids on a school trip or with their friends in the park to ensure they are safe, your teenage son who just got their driving license, on motorbikes, on employee vehicles to advise their next client when they’re nearly there, on a road trip/ holiday, whilst running to review your route later. The list is endless! All you need to do is make sure you have enough battery life on the device and are up to date with your monthly top ups.
Q. Why am I not getting full coverage outside?
A. Just like any other GPS product on the market, the device needs to be in sight of satellites to operate. The GSM network used to transmit the device’s location is the same network used for your mobile phone. You will note that some areas are not covered by network providers and reception might be affected. Try testing the device in different locations as this will help determine if there’s a problem in an area or with the device. Please note the GPS device does not work in Japan or North Korea but works in most other countries.
Q. Can I use my mobile/cell phone to track the device?
A. Yes you can and the best bit is that you do not need the latest expensive phone to do so. Just go to mytrackingpanel.com/loc8tor and enter in your IMEI. You can use our mobile tracking panel from any Mobile / Cell phone with an internet browser.
Q. What do I get when I buy a Monthly Package?

A. The Panic Button and the Geo-fence (Safety zone) features can be activated and set up from your tracking panel. To do so, you will need to enter the device contacts’ numbers or even email address. These are the recipients of the alert messages when the panic button is activated or the device breaches the geo-fence.
Q. How can I track the Loc8tor GPS if I am abroad?
A. Just find a PC with an internet connection, go to the GPS Login and enter your IMEI number and your password or just use your mobile / cell phone. You will have the same access as if you are at home.
Q. Is the device water resistant?
A. The device is certified to withstand the occasional splash. Make sure the USB connection cover is closed properly.
