Unlike the Mini Homing Tags, the Panic Tag has a button on it. When put in to Alert mode (only available on the Loc8tor plus) the button can be pressed by a child or dependant when in distress or in need of urgent attention. This then activates an Alert sequence on the Handheld with a vibration, an audio alarm and also identifying who is calling for help. Up to 24 Tags ( children / people) can be monitored on the Loc8tor plus

  General    Specifications    FAQs

Small, convenient size
Currently the smallest active RFID tag of its kind on the market weighing only 5 grams. It has all the features of the Mini Homing Tag plus the additional feature of the Panic Button.

It's ideal to be used with our Splashproof child wrist straps to securely attach to your childs wrist also helping to maximise the possible range.

Indoor or outdoor reliability
By using radio waves that are capable of going through walls and doors to communicate with the handheld means that they will work almost anywhere, indoors or out.

Great range
Loc8tor has the best performing Homing Tags of its kind currently on the market. With a clear line of sight, a range of up to 600 feet / 183 metres can be achieved however this will reduce with obstacles in between the Handheld and Tag.  As a guideline expect to get a range of up to 400 feet when attached to a child.

Please Note:
- 183 metre / 600 feet range is based on clear line of sight. Actual range will vary depending on use, environment and location.
- Loc8tor mode has been designed to help find your possessions. It should not be relied on to find people.
- Alert mode has only been designed to act as an aid to warn against items getting misplaced or stolen. It is not a replacement for parental supervision.
- Panic Tags are NOT water resistant. If you require the unit to be used outdoors we recommend you purchase our Splashproof covers.

Q - How many Tags can be monitored with each Handheld?
A - The Loc8tor Plus can monitor up to 24 personalised Tags, while the Loc8tor Pet and the Loc8tor Lite can monitor up to 4 Tags.

Q - How do I attach the Tags to the items I wish to protect?
A - Miniaturised Tags can be quickly and easily attached using a key ring loop or high strength adhesive strips, which are all supplied in the Loc8tor pack.

Q - How do I know which Tag the Loc8tor has found?
A - When you register each new Tag you are able to personalise it so that its name (“Wallet” for example) always appears on the Loc8tor Handheld. In Locate mode you simply select the item you are searching for.

Q - What is the size of the Loc8tor tags?
A - Each Mini Tag is 3cm high x 2cm wide x 0.9cm deep (1.2 x 0.8 x 0.3 inches).

Q - How much do the Tags weigh?
A - Each Tag including batteries weighs less than 5g (0.2 ounces).

Q - Will Tags owned by other people affect my Loc8tor Handheld?
A - No. Each Tag is uniquely registered to your Handheld during a simple set up process. It is then impossible for other Handhelds to track your Tags.

Q- How can I make the Tags water resistant?
A- There are several ways of making the Tag water resistant and here are 2 effective methods:
1. We have 3 types of splashproof tag housings. Please see which one is most relevant to your needs by viewing our Product List.

2. Place the Tag in a small plastic bag and seal the top using a zip tie. The bag doesn't affect the range.

3. Use silicon sealant for kitchen and bathrooms and put a generous amount along the seal on the Tag and the holes by the buzzer. Click here for a Video example from a customer.
